Matt McDowall of Saint Augusta, MN, and of McDowall Companies, needed a team he could trust time-and-time-again. Initially, they wanted a local partner to work on roofing, siding, and windows for new home construction. Later, roofing, siding, and windows were added on a new addition to their home and an outbuilding which was to serve as a lawn and garden garage.
Our local St. Augusta roofing and siding team started work on the new addition project by adding new weather sheathing and shingles to both the addition and new building to match the previous construction, including stunning copper accents in the flashing along the valleys, as well as step flashing along the dormers and entry roofs.
Following that, new LP SmartSide siding was added in a beautiful blue to both buildings, as well as windows, both of which matched the existing home. Sheathing was added where the new addition met the existing home as well. For a finishing touch, a frontispiece of stone was added to the columns of the home, and the lawn and garden garage.

Our local St. Augusta roofing and siding team started work by tearing off the existing shingles on the house and garage, de-nailing the roof deck, and taking care of sheathing issues as necessary.
The roofing team began the reconstruction of the roof with an ice and water shield that meets building code requirements, which the old version didn’t. Once the roof deck was repaired, synthetic felt was used to cover it in its entirety. Start shingles on the rake and eave edges were installed to withstand a maximum of 130 mph winds, and the entirety of the roof was shingled with CertainTeed Landmark PRO shingles in the color Max Def Shenandoah. New roof vents and swerve vents were also installed in a color to match the shingles.
During the entire project, our roofing team protected the existing siding and landscaping with tarps, as well as with careful execution.
