Worn-out roof and outdated siding had detracted from the home’s appearance. We installed a new roof and added LP SmartSide accents in Graphite, giving the home a cleaner, more updated look. The Driftwood shingle color enhanced the character of the home while ensuring durability and protection for years to come.

Andy R. | Church Roof Repair | Sartell
Old, defective shingles were compromising the integrity of the roof and needed prompt repair. We patched the damaged areas using GAF Slateline Shingles in the color Antique Slate, ensuring a seamless blend with the existing roof. This repair restored the property’s protective capabilities.
“We requested an evaluation and repair of shingles and roofing for our local church. Derrik of BD Exteriors was very responsive and helpful. He provided the necessary repairs in a timely manner, and his charges were very reasonable. We were very pleased with his services!”
April & Dan Ryan | Siding Replacement | Sartell
April and Dan contacted us looking for new siding. They wanted to update their home’s appearance and improve its overall exterior look. Our estimator met with them to go over their options, and together they selected Edco steel siding in Sandstone, vertical steel siding in Timber, and Boral Versetta Stone in Sterling Ledgestone.
The BD Exteriors siding team removed the existing wood siding and trim around the home before beginning installation. New stone was added to key front elevations, while steel siding and accent siding were installed throughout the rest of the exterior. New trim boards, aluminum wrapping, and other finishing details completed the project.
April and Dan were thrilled with the final result, and the update gave their Sartell home a completely refreshed look.
Kornovich Development Group Apartment | New Siding Installation | Sartell
Kornovich Development Group was building a new apartment project in Sartell and needed a trusted exterior contractor for siding and board and batten installation. The BD Exteriors team worked alongside other contractors during construction to complete the building exterior.
Edco steel siding was installed in multiple profiles, along with board and batten details and a wide variety of coordinated accessories. Our team also fabricated custom wraps and trim components in-house to complete the building.
The finished apartment project came together beautifully, and the client was very pleased with the final product.
Kraig Lalim | Siding, Windows, & Doors Replacement | Sartell
Kraig’s Sartell home had significant wear on the wood siding, windows, and doors. The existing exterior had damage from age, weather, and moisture, and it was time for a full update.
Our estimator developed a plan that included siding replacement, window replacement, door work, fascia updates, insulation improvements, and trim wrapping. The home and garage were both transformed with new Edco steel siding and white accessories, along with new Vinyl-Max window units and a Larson storm door.
This project dramatically improved the home’s appearance and functionality, and the finished result made a major difference.

Frequently Asked Questions About Roofing in Sartell, MN
Homeowners in Sartell often have questions about roof repair, roof replacement, storm damage, insurance claims, and winter roof issues. Below are answers to some of the most common questions we hear from local property owners.
How soon should I schedule a roof inspection after a storm?
It’s best to schedule a roof inspection as soon as possible after a hailstorm or wind event. Early inspection can help identify damage, document conditions for insurance, and prevent small issues from becoming larger repairs.
How do I know if I need roof repair or roof replacement?
If the damage is limited to one area, roof repair may be enough. If the roof is older, leaking in multiple places, or has widespread storm damage, a full roof replacement may make more sense. A professional inspection is the best place to start.
How do I know if my roof has hail damage?
Common signs of hail damage include bruised or cracked shingles, granule loss, dented vents or flashing, and damage to siding or gutters. A roofing contractor can inspect the roof and document the damage.
Can you help with a hail damage roof insurance claim?
Yes. BD Exteriors regularly works with insurance adjusters to assess storm damage, agree on scope, and complete the repair work.
What should I look for when hiring a Sartell roofer?
Look for a licensed local roofing contractor with strong reviews, product certifications, experience with Minnesota weather, and a clear process for estimates, installation, and communication.
Do you offer ice dam removal and roof snow removal?
Yes. BD Exteriors offers both roof snow removal and professional ice dam removal in Sartell.
How long does a roof replacement take in Sartell, MN?
Most residential roof replacements can be completed in one to two days, depending on the roof size, weather conditions, and the scope of the project. Larger or more complex roofing jobs may take longer.
What are the signs that it is time to replace my roof?
Common signs include curling or missing shingles, recurring leaks, granule loss, soft spots, storm damage, and roofs nearing the end of their expected lifespan. A professional inspection can help determine whether repair or replacement makes more sense.
Can wind damage a roof even if shingles are not missing?
Yes. Wind can loosen shingles, break seals, damage flashing, and create weak points that may not be obvious from the ground. A roofing inspection can help catch hidden storm damage before it gets worse.
What is the difference between roof repair and roof replacement?
Roof repair addresses specific damaged areas, while roof replacement involves removing and replacing the full roofing system. Repairs are often appropriate for isolated damage, while replacement is usually the better option for older roofs or widespread issues.
Do I need a roofing contractor after a hailstorm?
If your home has been hit by hail, it is a good idea to have a roofing contractor inspect the roof, siding, gutters, and other exterior surfaces. Hail damage is not always obvious, and an inspection can help document issues before they lead to bigger problems.
Will insurance cover hail damage to my roof or siding?
In many cases, homeowners’ insurance will cover hail and wind damage, depending on the policy and the extent of the damage. A contractor can help inspect the property and provide documentation for the insurance process.
What is the difference between Class 3 and Class 4 shingles?
Class 4 shingles have a higher impact-resistance rating than Class 3 shingles and are often chosen in hail-prone areas. They may provide better protection against storm damage, though the right roofing product depends on your home, budget, and goals.
Is metal roofing a good option in Minnesota?
Metal roofing can be a strong choice in Minnesota because it offers durability, long-term performance, and resistance to harsh weather. It can work well for both residential and commercial properties.
How do ice dams form on a roof?
Ice dams usually form when heat escapes through the roof, melting snow and causing the water to refreeze near the eaves. The ice can trap water, leading to leaks or moisture damage.
Is professional ice dam removal safer than doing it myself?
Yes. Trying to remove an ice dam yourself can damage roofing materials and create safety risks. Professional steaming is generally the safer option for removing ice while reducing the chance of roof damage.
How do I choose a reliable roofing contractor in Sartell?
Look for a licensed contractor with strong reviews, experience with Minnesota weather, manufacturer certifications, and a clear process for inspections, estimates, communication, and installation.
